Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy – Misty Island Power Cell Guide
Misty Island, a location central to the plot of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, initially presents a challenge to reach. Its perilous nature and association with Daxter's transformation make a return daunting. However, for those brave enough, and prepared, Misty Island offers significant rewards.
Accessing Misty Island
First, assist the fisherman in the Forbidden Jungle by helping him catch 200 pounds of fish. This unlocks a Power Cell and access to the Speedboat in Sandover Village, your transport to Misty Island.
The Sculptor's Muse
Your initial task on Misty Island involves retrieving the Sculptor's Lost Muse, a golden creature resembling Daxter. Located near the docks, the Muse requires a chase. Utilize roll jumps to maintain pace, breaking large bones to create pathways. Master its movements, anticipate turns, and employ well-timed roll jumps to intercept it. Once captured, return the Muse to the Sandover Village Sculptor for a Power Cell (save this for later).
Blue Eco and the First Power Cell
After retrieving the Muse, turn right from your starting point. Navigate a platforming section filled with blue eco orbs, leading to a Precursor Door (ignore it for now). Collect ample Blue Eco, proceeding to the Precursor Platform (see image 3). Activate the platform with your Blue Eco charge to cross the gap and acquire the Power Cell.
Conquering the Lurker Arena and the Dark Eco Pool
The next Power Cell requires facing a Lurker arena. Charge with Blue Eco and enter the Precursor Door. Waves of Lurkers attack, alongside explosive projectiles. Utilize the Red Eco they drop for an advantage, maintaining mobility to avoid explosives. Victory unlocks stairs leading to the Dark Eco Pool and its Power Cell.
The Lurker Ship Power Cell
Exit the arena and turn right. A bridge leads to a Lurker Ship. Ascend the ship's right side to reach the top and claim another Power Cell.
The Cannon and its Power Cell
Climb the ramp, dodging rolling and bouncing logs thrown by Lurkers. Utilize the side platforms for respite. At the top, eliminate the two Lurkers guarding the cannon for a Power Cell. Use the cannon to destroy metal boxes in the arena below for additional Precursor Orbs.
Balloon Lurker Showdown
Use the Zoomer (accessed via the trans-pad near the Lurker Ship, taking the opposite bridge) to eliminate five Balloon Lurkers in the bay. Careful use of brakes, acceleration, and the Zoomer's hop maneuver is crucial to avoid mines while targeting the Lurkers. Their predictable flight path simplifies this task. Defeating five yields a Power Cell.
Zoomer Power Cell
Ride the ramp (as shown in image 1), turn right, and navigate around the rock (image 2). Accelerate, hop at the edge, and launch yourself to collect Precursor Orbs and the Power Cell.
Seven Scout Flies
Locate the seven Scout Flies:
- During the Muse chase, use a seesaw and ground pound to reach a clifftop box.
- Two boxes are near the arena entrance (before the blue eco platform, see image provided).
- Another is accessible via a seesaw to the left after the arena.
- Two more are on and near the Lurker Ship.
- The final box is near the top of the Zoomer ramp.
Collecting all seven completes this task. Finally, return the Muse to the Sculptor in Sandover Village to fully conclude your Misty Island adventure.
