Fortnite Introduces Mobile-Exclusive Blitz Royale Mode

Fortnite's latest mobile update brings an exciting new way to play with Blitz Royale mode. Following the game's return to EU devices via the Epic Games Store (and iOS in the US), this marks the first significant mobile-focused feature.

What Makes Blitz Royale Special?

This fast-paced variant shrinks everything down: just 32 players battle across a condensed map where matches wrap up in under five minutes. Every player starts with identical randomized gear, eliminating the usual early-game loot advantage.

Instead of frantic scavenging, the focus shifts to strategic survival. The storm closes faster, and your Blitz Level rises with each elimination - unlocking better equipment along the way. Play solo or with up to three teammates while Golden Chests and Supply Drops tempt you with high-risk, high-reward opportunities.

The mode introduces "Boons" rather than traditional loot, and notably removes building mechanics entirely. These changes create a completely different experience from standard Fortnite.

The update also replaces Team Rumble with Training Grounds - an unlimited-respawn deathmatch set in a single location.

Limited-Time Themed Events

Blitz Royale offers a rotating schedule of special events until July 15th:

• Launch Week (June 18th): Features Mythic versions of classic weapons hidden in rare Golden Llamas, including the powerful Rocket Ram
• Four Nations Week (June 24th): Transforms the map with Avatar-inspired pagodas as players wield elemental Bending Scrolls
• Bad Bosses Week (July 1st): Swaps scrolls for deadly boss weapons like Thorne's Vampiric Blade and the new Blitz Chain of Hades
• TMNT Melee Mayhem (July 8th): Brings Ninja Turtle-themed weapons including the Mythic Typhoon Blade and Megalo Don's Nitro Fists
