CDPR acknowledged weak gameplay in The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.

In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged weaknesses in the previous game's gameplay, specifically citing combat and monster hunting as areas demanding significant upgrades. His statement: "We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience."

Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the enhanced power and intensity of monster battles, focusing on improved choreography and emotional impact.

A substantial combat overhaul is anticipated for The Witcher 4. Reassuringly, CD Projekt Red (CDPR) recognizes the shortcomings of past Witcher titles and is actively addressing them. These improvements will likely carry over to future installments, especially considering Ciri's central role in the upcoming trilogy.

Furthermore, developers intend to incorporate Triss's wedding into the game. Originally conceived for Novigrad in Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" questline depicts Triss's burgeoning feelings for Castello and her desire for a swift wedding. Geralt's role in this storyline involves monster extermination, procuring alcohol, and selecting a wedding gift.
