Elven Curse

This simple non-field RPG challenges you to escape a cursed forest. The prologue introduces you as the village's best hunter, drawn to a national hunting tournament near the royal capital. Upon arriving, you discover a disturbing scene: the campsite of numerous hunters is deserted.

Your journey begins with the unsettling realization that you're hopelessly lost, despite your renowned sense of direction. The forest itself seems to defy logic, repeatedly leading you back to the same locations.

The Elven Curse:

This game, aided by a quarter-elf named Foria, casts you as the hunter striving for forest escape. Gameplay is exceptionally streamlined, utilizing a maximum of three buttons outside the main menu.

Character Creation:

While character customization is limited, you can repeatedly reroll your stats. Stat increases upon leveling are only visible on the character creation screen, serving as a reminder before entering the game. When your life force reaches zero, and you have fewer than two "talismans," it's game over.

Foria, the Peddler Quarter-Elf:

A mysterious boy (or perhaps something else?) who aids your escape, Foria claims to be older than you, despite his youthful appearance. He secretly utilizes the forest's ancient spirits to support your quest.

Game World and Exploration:

The prologue unfolds like a visual novel, while Foria's dialogue maintains a cheerful tone. The game's world is conveyed through understated yet evocative language. Exploration involves uncovering unexplored areas to progress. The success of each exploration attempt is influenced by the area's "fog depth" and your character's stats. When your life force is depleted, you can use poison or rare talismans, potentially requiring a return to Foria.

Encounters and Combat:

The forest is inhabited by various creatures, from wild dogs and wolves to surprisingly aggressive frogs and rabbits. Killing them yields hides for trading with Foria. Unlike typical RPGs, combat doesn't grant experience. Battles are optional; however, avoiding them requires either luck or strategic gameplay.

As a hunter, you use a bow and arrow. Maintaining distance allows you to attack without counterattacks, but closing the distance results in a one-sided assault. You can either withdraw to regain distance or use a "flash" ball provided by Foria for a guaranteed escape.

Cloak System:

Using collected branches, resin, and leather, you can craft a cloak to enhance your abilities. Layering up to three cloaks increases your stats; however, the top layer can be damaged and eventually destroyed. This is the only equipment variation in the game.

Auto-Save:

The game features an auto-save system, but it's not perfect (e.g., saving doesn't occur during battles). To ensure your progress is saved, it's recommended to close the app from the base menu.
