Microsoft Making Big Changes to Game Pass Quests and Rewards
Enhanced Xbox Game Pass Rewards Program Launches January 7th
Starting January 7th, Xbox Game Pass is significantly upgrading its rewards program, introducing Quests for PC users and enhancing the overall experience. However, access to these new features is restricted to players aged 18 and older, prioritizing age-appropriate gaming.
This update brings several key improvements:
-
PC Game Pass Quests: PC Game Pass subscribers (18+) will now have access to Quests, previously exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This expands earning opportunities for a broader audience.
-
New Quest Types: A variety of daily, weekly, and monthly Quests will be available, offering diverse ways to earn points. These include:
- Daily Play: Earn 10 points daily by playing any Game Pass title for at least 15 minutes.
- Weekly Streaks: Maintain a weekly playing streak (at least 5 days) to earn progressively larger point multipliers (2x for 2 weeks, 3x for 3 weeks, 4x for 4+ weeks).
- Monthly Packs: Earn points by playing four (Monthly 4-Pack) or eight (Monthly 8-Pack) different games (15 minutes each) per month. The 4-Pack games count towards the 8-Pack.
- PC Weekly Bonus: 18+ players earn a 150-point bonus for playing at least 15 minutes on 5 or more days of the week.
-
Rewards Hub Access Restriction: The Rewards Hub, used for tracking and redeeming points, will be unavailable to users under 18.
Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to creating age-appropriate experiences. While players under 18 will not have access to the new Quest system, they can still earn rewards through parentally-approved purchases from the Microsoft Store.
The updated system simplifies point earning with consistent daily, weekly, and monthly opportunities, encouraging players to explore the diverse Game Pass catalog.
