Subnautica's deep-sea adventure is finally making its way to mobile devices. First launching on PC and Mac in 2018, this acclaimed survival game became an instant classic. It later expanded to PlayStation, Xbox, and next-generation consoles, followed by a sequel and a separate spin-off title.

Subnautica Mobile Release Date

Subnautica officially arrives on Android devices on July 8th, 2025. Publisher Unknown Worlds has released a new trailer showcasing the mobile version, and the graphics look impressively sharp. Fans are hoping the gameplay performance matches the visual quality.

For newcomers, here's a quick overview of the game. You assume the role of Ryley Robinson, the sole survivor of the starship Aurora's crash landing. Stranded on the ocean planet 4546B, your mission is to survive.

As a survival title, you must manage resources like food, water, and oxygen. Crafting is essential for creating tools, building underwater bases and submarines, all while avoiding the planet's dangerous native creatures.

The experience is deepened by a mysterious narrative. Scattered clues on the seafloor gradually reveal the planet's hidden history and what you must do to escape.

Developed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, Subnautica is a first-person, open-world adventure. Players can dive into the complete challenge with Survival mode, or opt for the relaxed Freedom or Creative modes to freely explore the stunning aquatic environments.

For the mobile release, controls have been optimized for touchscreens with full controller support. Android players will benefit from Google Play Games integration for achievements and cloud saves, allowing seamless progress across devices.
