Fitness Boxing Dances onto Switch with Hatsune Miku
Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers, and a fond goodbye from TouchArcade!
This marks the conclusion of the regular SwitchArcade Round-Up, a journey spanning several years. While a special edition next week will feature a few embargoed reviews, this is my final regular contribution. Circumstances necessitate a change of course, preventing me from seeing the Switch's lifespan through with these articles. Let's reminisce on one last, substantial round-up!
Reviews & Mini-Views
Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Following Imagineer's successful Fitness Boxing series, culminating in the surprisingly enjoyable Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star, their next collaboration was a smart choice: Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU. I recently compared it to Ring Fit Adventure and found it impressively effective.
This rhythm boxing game offers daily workouts, engaging minigames, and a dedicated mode featuring Miku's songs. Note: it's Joy-Con-only; Pro Controllers and third-party accessories aren't supported. The game includes difficulty options, a free training mode, warm-ups, workout tracking, reminders, and even a system-wide alarm. Unlockable cosmetics add a rewarding element. While I can't comment on DLC, the base game surpasses Fist of the North Star—except for one minor drawback.

The audio is excellent, but the main instructor's voice feels jarring and oddly directed, prompting me to lower its volume.

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU successfully blends Miku's charm with effective fitness mechanics. However, it's best used as a supplement to other routines rather than a standalone fitness solution. -Mikhail Madnani

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

Magical Delicacy from sKaule and Whitethorn Games blends Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. While it excels in parts, some flaws detract from the overall experience.
As Flora, a young witch, you cook and craft for various characters. The exploration is surprisingly well-executed, despite some frustrating backtracking. However, ingredient management and UI interaction could be improved.

The game's strengths lie in its beautiful pixel art, charming music, and extensive settings options (including UI scaling and text options). Early access or post-launch updates would have benefited the game.
The Switch version runs smoothly, aside from occasional frame pacing hiccups. The rumble feature is well-implemented. Its portability makes it ideal for Switch or Steam Deck.

Despite its potential, Magical Delicacy feels slightly underdeveloped due to inventory and backtracking issues. Nevertheless, it's a promising game, and quality-of-life improvements would elevate it to an essential title. -Mikhail Madnani

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

A sequel to the 16-bit platformer, Aero The Acro-Bat 2, improves upon its predecessor. While not a massive success, it's a solid platformer.
This release surprisingly features an upgraded presentation compared to Ratalaika's typical emulation wrappers. It boasts enhanced options, extras (box and manual scans, achievements, sprite sheet gallery, jukebox, cheats), and a polished experience. The only drawback is the exclusion of the SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive version.

Fans of the original Aero The Acro-Bat will appreciate this enhanced sequel. Ratalaika's improved emulation wrapper is commendable.
SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5
Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

A prequel to Metro Quester, this expansion pack introduces a new setting (Osaka), dungeon, character types, weapons, skills, and enemies. The turn-based combat, top-down exploration, and strategic gameplay remain core elements.
The new setting introduces water traversal via canoe. Careful planning is crucial for success.

Fans of the original will find this expansion highly enjoyable, while newcomers can jump straight into this enhanced experience.
