PG People

Following several weeks of nominations, voting is officially open for the Pocket Gamer People's Choice Award 2025. You submitted a wealth of fantastic suggestions, which we've now narrowed down to a final twenty. If your favorite game from last year made the list, that's great news—but your job isn't finished yet. Voting is live now and will close at midnight on July 31st, so be sure to cast your ballot (and tell your friends) to help your top pick come out victorious.

If you missed the nomination phase, don't worry. Chances are a game you loved from the past year is on our shortlist, which you can view below:

  • Balatro
  • Battle Cars: Nitro PvP Shooter
  • Bloons Card Storm
  • Etheria: Restart
  • Fortnite
  • Gordian Quest
  • I Am Your Beast
  • Lara Croft: Guardian of Light
  • Marvel Mystic Mayhem
  • Monument Valley 3
  • Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket
  • Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
  • Scattered Verse
  • Shogun Showdown
  • Songs of Conquest
  • Squid Game: Unleashed
  • Sunset Hills
  • The Star Named EOS
  • Thronefall
  • What the Clash?

That's quite a lineup, isn't it? As usual, I'm glad the final decision rests with you—I'd have a tough time choosing just one from that stellar group. Of course, that's partly because Dredge didn't get nominated. Shame on you! Just kidding, naturally. The People's Choice Award is all about your voice, not mine.

When will we find out the winner?

So, you now know you have until midnight on July 31st to vote. What happens after that? When will the winner be announced? We'll be hosting a glamorous (or at least I imagine it will be suitably impressive) awards presentation on Tuesday, August 19th. The sharp-eyed among you will note that's during Gamescom, so it likely won't surprise you to learn it's taking place at the Gürzenich in Cologne. The results will be posted online shortly afterward, so there's no need to dig out your formal wear if, like me, you prefer to follow along from home.
