Elden Ring Nightreign Test: Limited Playtime for Participants

Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: Three-Hour Daily Limit

The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test will impose a three-hour daily playtime restriction, running from February 14th to 17th. This limited access will apply exclusively to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players. Applications for the test are currently open.

Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, the announcement of Nightreign, a spin-off title, generated significant excitement. While initially, FromSoftware stated there were no plans for a sequel or further DLC beyond the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, Nightreign's reveal at The Game Awards 2024 surprised and delighted fans.

The network test, as stated on the FromSoftware website, serves as a crucial preliminary verification to assess online systems through large-scale network load testing. This means participants will play a limited portion of the game. PC players are excluded from this test, but the final game will support the platform upon release.

Nightreign represents a notable departure for FromSoftware, prioritizing co-operative gameplay and incorporating roguelike elements such as randomized encounters. While a release date remains unannounced, the network test strongly suggests further announcements are imminent. The three-hour daily limit, however, may disappoint players anticipating extensive playtime.
