DOOM Returns to the Middle Ages in New Teaser
Nvidia's recent hardware and software showcase unveiled a new 12-second teaser for the highly anticipated Doom: The Dark Ages. This glimpse showcases the game's diverse environments and the iconic Doom Slayer, wielding a new shield. The game, confirmed for release on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC in 2025, will leverage DLSS 4 technology.
Doom: The Dark Ages, a continuation of id Software's successful Doom reboot series, promises to build upon the brutal combat and intense action that defined its predecessors. While the teaser doesn't display combat, it highlights the variety of locations players will explore, ranging from opulent corridors to barren, cratered landscapes. Nvidia's blog post confirms the game's development using the latest idTech engine and its utilization of ray reconstruction on the new RTX 50 series.
The teaser follows other showcased titles, including CD Projekt Red's The Witcher sequel and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, both lauded for their impressive visuals. The showcase serves as a prelude to Nvidia's GeForce RTX 50 series launch, promising further advancements in visual fidelity and performance for future game development.
While a precise release date remains unannounced, Doom: The Dark Ages is slated for a 2025 launch across Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Further details regarding the game's narrative, enemies, and combat mechanics are anticipated throughout the year.
