Starting an Infested Clear Mission
To begin, visit one of the five traders (Rekt, Jen, Bob, Hugh, or Joe) on a standard map. The trader's identity is less crucial than the mission's tier and location. Higher tiers signify increased difficulty, and the biome influences enemy types. Wasteland missions, for example, are likely to feature more challenging foes than forest missions.
Infested missions become available after unlocking Tier 2 missions, requiring completion of 10 Tier 1 missions. These missions present a greater challenge than standard clear missions, featuring increased zombie numbers and tougher variants like radiated zombies, cops, and ferals. Tier 6 missions are the most difficult but offer correspondingly better rewards for well-equipped players. Regardless of tier, the objective remains consistent: eliminate all enemies within a designated area.
Completing an Infested Clear Mission
Upon reaching the Point of Interest (POI), activate the mission marker. Leaving the area or dying results in mission failure. POIs often have predetermined paths, frequently marked by lighting. These paths may trigger traps, so consider alternative routes. Carrying building blocks allows for quick escape from traps or creating unexpected flanking maneuvers.
Zombies are indicated by red dots on the screen; size corresponds to proximity. Prioritize eliminating Screamers to prevent reinforcements. Remember that headshots are the most effective method of dispatching zombies. Pay close attention to special zombie types:
