Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2’s First Public Test Server Goes Live, Update 7.0 Patch Notes Reveal Huge Changes

The public test server for *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2* is now live, offering an early glimpse at Update 7.0. Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have released preliminary patch notes, emphasizing that the final version may differ due to ongoing bug fixes. This PTS, however, provides a substantial preview, exclusive to PC players.

Update 7.0 introduces a new PvE mission, "Exfiltration," and a powerful new secondary weapon: the Inferno Pistol, available to Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes. Endgame PvE players can look forward to prestige ranks, and PvP players will appreciate the addition of private lobbies. Customization options are significantly expanded with new colors (Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue), Bulwark cloth and hand recoloring, and a 50% increase in PvP customization rewards. New Champion skins are also included: an Imperial Fists skin for the Tactical class and a Space Wolves skin for the Vanguard class.

Balance changes are significant, most notably the expanded weapon arsenal in PvE. All classes now have a wider weapon selection; the Assault class, for example, can finally wield the Power Sword without modifications. Detailed weapon adjustments are outlined in the patch notes below.

A noteworthy improvement addresses a persistent griefing issue in the Inferno Operation. Players reaching the assembly area in the final stage will now automatically teleport any lagging teammates after a 1:30 minute grace period (with a 15-second warning).

Operations

Obelisk: Added a few new voiceovers to make the objectives in the final gameplay sequence clearer for players.

Inferno: Now, if a player reaches the assembly area in the final stage of the level, the other players will be forcefully teleported there after some time (they will receive a notification about the teleportation after 1:30 and will be teleported 15 seconds later).
