"Unlock the Free Dogwood Village Bow Early in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2"
Combat is a crucial element in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, and having better weapons can make all the difference. After the prologue, Henry finds himself with nothing, but there's a way to equip yourself early with the Dogwood Village Bow, and it's completely free.

After parting ways with Hans, your next goal is to find a way into the wedding. You can achieve this by taking up a job with either a blacksmith or a miller and proving your worth to secure an invitation. Even if you choose not to work as a blacksmith, the job marker on your map will guide you directly to the location of the Dogwood Village Bow. If you do opt for the blacksmith job to attend Semine’s wedding, you’ll also want to learn how to acquire the hermit’s sword later on.
The blacksmith job is located in Tachov, north of Troskowitz, where the prologue ends and the game world opens up. From Troskowitz, follow the road west and then continue as it curves north. At a junction where the main road splits and a smaller road leads west, turn right toward a cluster of trees. This area is easy to overlook, as it blends in with the surroundings. Tucked within these trees is a small training area.

Inside the cluster, you'll find a target with arrows sticking out of it. Collect these arrows for free ammo, then look to the right side of the tree where the Dogwood Village Bow is leaning against the trunk in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Don't forget to grab some brew from the nearby stump and pick up any mushrooms you find. Once you've gathered what you need, you can proceed with your current quest.

Other Ways to Get the Dogwood Village Bow in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
While it's possible to purchase the Dogwood Village Bow, it's not the most powerful ranged weapon available. You can buy it from Huntsman’s Son Vitek in Tachov, but given its proximity to the free version, it's not worth the cost. Opting for the free bow is the smarter choice if you're without a ranged weapon. Vitek does offer other, more potent weapons, and you can earn money through alchemy by collecting herbs and brewing potions to sell.
Whether you choose the free bow or aim to purchase a different weapon, having a ranged option is beneficial, especially since you can't adjust the game's difficulty. The combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* is similar to its predecessor, and melee combat isn't everyone's preference. Personally, I lean towards ranged weapons whenever possible.
If you decide to head to Tachov to become a blacksmith, you can sleep and save after demonstrating your ability to forge a sword. Alternatively, you can visit the miller to continue the main quest. With a ranged weapon at your disposal, combat in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* becomes much more manageable.
And that's how you can secure the free Dogwood Village Bow early in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
*Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.*
