Stellar Blade Update Causes Game-Breaking Bugs
Devs Now Working On Hotfix Patch
Patch 1.009 for Stellar Blade, while delivering the much-anticipated Photo Mode and the NieR: Automata collaboration DLC, has introduced some serious bugs. Players have reported being softlocked when trying to continue a main quest in an earlier dungeon, preventing further progression. Additionally, there have been complaints about game crashes when using the selfie camera in Photo Mode, and issues with new cosmetic items failing to render correctly on Eve.
Shift Up has acknowledged these problems and is actively developing a hotfix patch to resolve them. They advise players not to force quest progression and to wait for the hotfix, as attempting to bypass the issues may lead to permanent softlocks even after the patch is applied.
NieR: Automata DLC and Photo Mode
The Stellar Blade Patch 1.009 introduces a wealth of new content, highlighted by the NieR: Automata collaboration. According to the PlayStation Blog, NieR: Automata significantly inspired Stellar Blade, leading to a collaboration between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro. This partnership has resulted in 11 exclusive collaboration items available through NieR character Emil, who has set up shop in Stellar Blade’s world to offer these unique goods.
The stunning graphics and captivating cast of Stellar Blade have long driven player demand for personalized snapshots. Shift Up has fulfilled this wish with the addition of Photo Mode in the latest update. As announced by the developers, Photo Mode allows players to pose protagonist Eve and her companions for photos. To enhance this feature, new photo challenge requests have been added to encourage players to explore and utilize Photo Mode fully.
Alongside Photo Mode, Eve receives four new outfits and a new accessory, which becomes available after completing a specific ending, altering the appearance of Tachy Mode. A "No Ponytail" option has also been added to the ponytail length settings, providing more customization options for Eve's appearance. Additionally, the update includes lip-sync support for six more voice-over languages, improved projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various smaller bug fixes, all contributing to a smoother and more enjoyable gameplay experience.
