Pokemon GO Adding Galar Pokemon in Upcoming Event
The Steely Resolve event in Pokémon GO, running from January 21st to 26th, marks the highly anticipated debut of the Corviknight evolutionary line: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight. This follows the earlier tease in the Dual Destiny Season loading screen, which generated considerable player speculation.
This event isn't just about the new additions. It's packed with activities:
- New Pokémon: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight make their Pokémon GO debut.
- Special Research: A new Dual Destiny Special Research storyline offers unique rewards.
- Field Research Tasks: Complete these tasks for additional rewards.
- Shiny Pokémon Encounters: Increased chances to encounter shiny versions of several Pokémon.
- Bonuses: Magnetic Lure Modules attract specific Pokémon, including Onix, Beldum, Shieldon, and Rookidee. Charged TMs can help Shadow Pokémon forget Frustration. Increased spawns for Clefairy, Paldean Wooper, Carbink, and more.
The event also features boosted spawns of various Pokémon, including several shiny-capable ones (Clefairy, Machop, Totodile, Marill, Hoppip, Paldean Wooper, Shieldon, Bunnelby, and Mareanie). Raids will feature Deoxys (Attack and Defense Forms), Dialga, Mega Gallade, and Mega Medicham. 2km Eggs will contain Shieldon, Carbink, Mareanie, and Rookidee (with shiny possibilities).
Evolutionary bonuses include special attacks for evolved Pokémon like Machamp (Karate Chop), Feraligatr (Hydro Cannon), Quagsire (Aqua Tail), Lickilicky (Body Slam), Corviknight (Iron Head), and Clodsire (Megahorn).
Concurrent with the Steely Resolve event is GO Battle Week: Dual Destiny (January 21st-26th). This offers increased Stardust rewards (4x from wins), a higher daily battle cap (20 sets, 100 battles), free battle-themed Timed Research, and varied stats on Pokémon encountered through GO Battle League rewards. Multiple GO Battle League formats will be active.
In short, the Steely Resolve event promises a thrilling week for Pokémon GO players, combining the arrival of highly sought-after Pokémon with a wealth of other engaging content and bonuses. Beyond Corviknight, the event also incorporates Shadow Raids (including Shadow Ho-Oh), Dynamax raids featuring Kanto Legendary Birds, and the return of the Pokémon GO Community Day Classic.
