Metal Gear Solid Welcomes the Year of the Snake with Snake Year Performance for Snake
Happy Snake Year! Metal Gear Solid voice actor, David Hayter, rings in 2025 – the Year of the Snake – with a celebratory message. This auspicious year also marks the anticipated release of a new Metal Gear Solid title! Read on for details.
A Serendipitous Alignment
David Hayter, the voice of Solid Snake and Big Boss, took to Bluesky to wish fans a Happy Snake Year. With a new Metal Gear game on the horizon, 2025 might just be the year of Snake himself. Hayter will reprise his iconic role in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake.
Konami cleverly highlighted this coincidence with a New Year's video featuring taiko drummers and a calligraphy artist showcasing the kanji for "snake." The video culminated in a bold "SNAKE YEAR," underscoring the dual significance of 2025 for both the Chinese zodiac and the Metal Gear franchise.
Since its May 2024 announcement, including a trailer and Tokyo Game Show demo, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has been relatively quiet. However, producer Noriaki Okamura recently told 4Gamer that delivering a high-quality, polished game is a top priority for 2025.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the 2004 classic, is slated for release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Expect next-gen enhancements, including the return of Phantom Pain mechanics, new voice-overs, and additional dialogue from the original cast.
