Writer and filmmaker Ahmed Alameen is set to launch his debut point-and-click adventure game, My Father Lied, on May 30th. This narrative-driven puzzler draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Mesopotamian history and invites players to delve into a captivating mystery.

In My Father Lied, you step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman on a quest to unravel the enigma of her father's disappearance, which occurred two decades ago. The journey begins when Huda uncovers the existence of a brother she never knew about, prompting her to dig deeper into her father's past.

Originally, Alameen embarked on this project with a college classmate, where he served as the narrative designer. However, after the team disbanded, Alameen took it upon himself to master game design and complete the project solo.

As you navigate through My Father Lied, you'll employ point-and-click mechanics to explore and interact with the world, solving a series of intricate puzzles. From piecing together images to cracking codes, your journey will take you through hauntingly beautiful landscapes. Alameen envisions the game as a blend of the atmospheric exploration found in Myst, the narrative depth of Heaven's Vault, and the eerie storytelling of H.P. Lovecraft's works.

Rather than focusing on detailed 3D models, Alameen adopted a creative approach by utilizing both 2D and 360-degree images throughout the game, including in the meticulously crafted frame-by-frame cutscenes. This method ensures high-quality visuals that are accessible even on lower-end PCs.

My Father Lied will be available for purchase on the App Store, Google Play, and for PC via Steam starting May 30th, priced at $10.99/€10.99.
