Use Flash Pods to Gain an Advantage
Despite its massive size, Doshaguma is surprisingly agile. It can leap and dash across the battlefield with ease, making it a tough target—especially for melee users. To gain control of the fight, use a Flash Pod. This handy item temporarily blinds the monster, leaving it stunned for several seconds. That’s your golden opportunity to land some heavy hits or even climb onto its back for extra damage.
Target the Weakest Points
To maximize your damage output, focus on Doshaguma’s most vulnerable areas. Its forelegs have a 3-star weakness rating, making them ideal targets. The head also has a 3-star weakness, so aim there if possible. While not as effective, the hind legs are still viable with a 2-star weakness. Don’t forget about the tail—it may only offer moderate damage potential, but breaking it yields additional monster parts, which can be valuable for crafting later.
Leverage Fire and Lightning Elements
Doshaguma is particularly weak to fire and lightning attacks, making these your best elemental choices during the battle. If you’re using a bowgun, load up on Flaming Ammo for fire damage and Thunder Ammo for lightning-based attacks. You can also enhance your weapon with decorations that boost fire-type skills. When attacking with fire, focus on the head and torso regions. For lightning, zero in exclusively on the head for maximum impact.
Watch Out for Blastblight
Be mindful of Doshaguma’s dangerous status attack: Blastblight. Once this ailment builds up, it can cause you to explode unless treated. To remove Blastblight, use a Nulberry or Deodorant. Alternatively, dodge-roll three times in succession to clear the effect naturally before it becomes fatal.
Utilize Environmental Traps Strategically
Don’t just rely on brute force—use the environment to your advantage. The terrain where Doshaguma roams often contains natural traps. Sheath your weapon and prepare your slinger. Wait until the monster is directly beneath a trap before activating it for the greatest effect.

Killing Doshaguma isn't your only option—you can also capture it alive. Begin by weakening the monster until its HP drops to 20% or lower. Then, set up either a Shock Trap or Pitfall Trap nearby. Lure the creature into stepping on the trap by using Luring Ammo or placing bait meat strategically. Once trapped, quickly fire tranquilizers at it. You may need to use multiple doses to ensure it falls asleep completely.
