Marvel's Season Reductions Halve Content
Marvel Rivals Season 1: A Double-Sized Debut
Get ready for a massive start to Marvel Rivals! Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasts double the content of a typical season. This unprecedented expansion is a direct result of the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a unified group.
This supersized season will include:
- Three New Maps: Explore iconic New York City locations: the Sanctum Sanctorum (launch day), Midtown (for Convoy missions), and Central Park (details to be revealed later).
- New Game Mode: The Sanctum Sanctorum sets the stage for the introduction of the exciting new Doom Match mode.
- The Fantastic Four Arrival: Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist) debut with Season 1. The Thing and Human Torch are slated to join the roster in a mid-season update approximately six to seven weeks later.
The developers highlighted the decision to release the Fantastic Four simultaneously as the driving force behind Season 1's expanded content. While this initial season is significantly larger, NetEase Games hasn't yet clarified how this will affect the future release schedule of new features, maps, or game modes. The expectation remains that future seasons will likely continue to introduce two new heroes or villains.
While the absence of Blade in this season disappointed some fans, the sheer volume of new content and the ongoing speculation surrounding the game's future keep anticipation high. The stage is set for an exciting journey into the Marvel Rivals universe.
