Marvel Rivals Unveils Rank Reset for Optimized Matchmaking
Marvel Rivals Competitive Rank Reset: A Comprehensive Guide
Marvel Rivals, the free-to-play Marvel-themed hero shooter, features a competitive mode with a seasonal rank system. This guide details the competitive rank reset mechanics.
Competitive Rank Reset Mechanics
At the end of each season, your competitive rank is demoted by seven tiers. For example, ending a season at Diamond I will result in a starting rank of Gold II in the next season. The lowest rank is Bronze III; players ending the season at or below Bronze III will remain at Bronze III.
Rank Reset Timing
The competitive rank reset occurs at the conclusion of each season. Season 1's start date (January 10th, at the time of writing) indicates the approximate reset timing for future seasons.
All Competitive Ranks
Competitive mode unlocks at player level 10. Progression through ranks is based on accumulating points; every 100 points earned advances you to the next tier. The rank tiers are:
- Bronze (III-I)
- Silver (III-I)
- Gold (III-I)
- Platinum (III-I)
- Diamond (III-I)
- Grandmaster (III-I)
- Eternity
- One Above All (Top 500 Leaderboard)
Even after reaching Grandmaster I, players can continue earning points to achieve Eternity and One Above All ranks. One Above All requires placement within the top 500 players on the leaderboard.
Season Length
While Season 0 was shorter, subsequent seasons are expected to last approximately three months. New seasons introduce new heroes (like the Fantastic Four) and maps, providing ample time for rank progression.
