Becoming a Hollow in the Hollow Era
Your journey begins as a Soul Spirit, offering you a pivotal choice: to become a Shinigami or a Hollow. Opting for the latter requires you to break all the links on your chain, a process that naturally occurs every two minutes, leading to your transformation into a Hollow without any action from your side.
Note: Playing as a Hollow can be more challenging and grind-heavy compared to Shinigami. While Hollows offer a unique and cool gameplay experience, be prepared for a lot of effort to reach the prestigious ranks of Vasto Lorde or Espada.
Hollow Progression in the Hollow Era
Your initial goal as a Hollow is to evolve into a Gillian. This requires grinding by eliminating and consuming other Hollows. Upon reaching level 15, you can transform into a Gillian. At level 10, you can access the Hueco Mundo dimension through a Garganta gateway, making it easier to find and defeat Hollows.
Remember, as a Hollow, you're a target for both Shinigami and other Hollows, unlike the safer path of the Soul Reapers (Shinigami). Check out our full Shinigami progression guide for more details.
Gillian Form in the Hollow Era
As a Gillian, your task continues to involve eliminating Hollows and interacting with Hollow Pillars in Hueco Mundo. Collecting enough Progression Points will teleport you to your inner world, where you must defeat five tougher Hollows three times to evolve into an Adjucha.
Adjucha Form in the Hollow Era
As an Adjucha, you face a crucial decision: to progress as a Vasto Lorde or Arrancar.
Arrancar Progression
To become an Arrancar, you need to interact with a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo, which spawns every 30 to 60 minutes. Upon contact, you'll transform into an Arrancar, gaining access to Hueco Mundo and the ability to use Kendo skills. At level 50, you can start working towards obtaining your Resurrección.
Vasto Lorde Progression
Choosing to evolve into a Vasto Lorde involves continued elimination and devouring of Hollows to accumulate Progression Points. Be cautious, as death results in a 1% loss of these points. Reaching 800 Progression Points is essential, and you can earn them as follows:
- Hollow: 1 Point
- Gillian: 6 Points
- Adjucha: 4 Points
- Vasto Lorde: 8 Points
- Arrancar: 8 Points
- Espada: 10 Points
Vasto Lorde Form in the Hollow Era
Evolving into a Vasto Lorde is more challenging than becoming an Arrancar. You'll need 800 race Progression Points and all Hollow Items, which have varying drop rates from different Hollows. Here's a list of items you need to collect:
- Hollows: Back Fins (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 HP regeneration), Fin Tail (Legendary, 1% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu regeneration and +1 Speed)
- Gillian: Back Spikes (Rare, 10% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
- Adjucha: Tail (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Speed), Single Horn (Uncommon, 25% drop chance, +1 Strength), Double Horn (Rare, 10% drop chance, +2 Strength), Triple Horn (Epic, 5%, +3 Strength)
- Vasto Lorde: Spiral Horn (Epic, 5% drop chance, +1 Reiatsu)
Becoming Espada in the Hollow Era
To evolve into an Espada from a Vasto Lorde, follow the same process as becoming an Arrancar: locate a Crystal Bush in Hueco Mundo and interact with it. To find the bush more easily, disable Atmosphere, Bloom, and Depth of Field in your settings and scan the area from a high vantage point.
How to Get Your Resurrección
Once you're an Arrancar or Espada, your ultimate goal is to obtain your Resurrección. Reach level 50, then head to Hueco Mundo to speak with Isen, the King of Hueco Mundo. He will task you with defeating 50 Arrancars. Upon completion, you can activate your Resurrección when your Rage Bar is full and pulsating. Fill the Rage Bar by dealing or receiving damage, and use the default keybind "Y" to activate it. The Resurrección will deactivate once you run out of Reiatsu or Rage.

Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
Playing as a Hollow offers a unique and cool experience but is less versatile than evolving as a Shinigami. Be ready for extensive grinding and expect to be targeted by both Hollows and Shinigami. Use the lockup button to focus on your primary enemy during combat, especially helpful given the game's occasional bugs and lag. Learn how to block enemy attacks early on, as even low-level enemies can deal significant damage.
Upon death, you'll lose some money and face the inconvenience of walking back to your quest targets. Consider investing in the bus teleport to save time. When collecting Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed to enhance your damage output and mobility. Use the Reiatsu sense by pressing and holding J (default keybind) to reveal markers around Karakura.
This concludes our Hollow Era Hollow progression guide. The game is still under development, so expect some bugs and lag even on high-performance PCs. Don't forget to grab your Hollow Era codes to give yourself a boost at the start, as this game presents a challenging journey.
