A Sequel Expected Within a Few Years
During Bank of America's 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference, Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels confirmed plans for a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy, the Harry Potter-themed action RPG that has sold over 24 million copies since its release. Variety reported Wiedenfels' statement: "Clearly, a Hogwarts Legacy sequel is a top priority for us in the next couple of years. We anticipate significant growth from our games division based on this."
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. Games' David Haddad highlighted the game's remarkable replayability as a key factor in its success, telling Variety, "Many players have revisited the game multiple times." He emphasized not only the impressive sales figures but also the game's impact: "It presented Harry Potter in a completely new and engaging way for gamers, allowing them to truly immerse themselves in the world and story." This resonated deeply with fans, propelling Hogwarts Legacy to the top of the sales charts, a position typically held by established franchises' sequels. Haddad expressed pride in breaking into this elite tier.
Game8 was particularly impressed by Hogwarts Legacy's stunning visuals, calling it the most visually impressive Harry Potter experience available. For a complete review, please follow the link below. (Link removed as it's not provided in the original text)
