Elden Ring Player Will Fight Messmer Daily Until Nightreign Releases
An Elden Ring player's epic challenge: Conquering Messmer daily until Nightreign's release!

This dedicated Elden Ring enthusiast, chickensandwich420, isn't just passively awaiting the release of the upcoming co-op spin-off, Elden Ring: Nightreign. Instead, they've embarked on a grueling self-imposed challenge: defeating the notoriously difficult boss, Messmer the Impaler, every single day until Nightreign launches. The twist? They're using a different weapon each time, aiming for flawless, no-hit victories, all while playing on NG+7.

This daily duel began on December 16, 2024, as documented on chickensandwich420's YouTube channel. Initially, the plan involved tackling various bosses from FromSoftware games, but time constraints (being a university senior) led to focusing solely on Messmer.
Messmer, the second antagonist in Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, is infamous for his brutal difficulty. Players report needing anywhere from 30 to over 150 attempts to defeat him, even with top-tier gear. Chickensandwich420's undertaking is, therefore, a truly monumental feat of skill and perseverance.

There's a caveat, however. The player has set a self-imposed deadline of June 2025. If Nightreign doesn't release by then, the Messmer marathon will conclude, and the focus will shift to other games. This equates to over 160 days of battling Messmer. At the time of writing, they're on day 23.
Elden Ring: Nightreign, a standalone co-op adventure set in the Elden Ring universe, was announced at The Game Awards 2024, with a projected 2025 release. However, FromSoftware's track record suggests potential delays. Only time will tell if chickensandwich420's dedication will be rewarded with Nightreign's timely arrival, or if a delayed launch will bring an end to their impressive Messmer conquest.
