Elden Ring: Nightreign Drops Iconic Message Feature - Why?
In the upcoming *Elden Ring: Nightreign*, players will no longer have the ability to "leave a message" within the game. This decision was articulated by project director Junya Ishizaki in a recent interview. He explained that the choice to remove the messaging feature stems from the game's session length, which is set at approximately forty minutes. "With sessions lasting roughly forty minutes, there isn't enough time to send your own messages or read other people's messages, therefore we disabled the messaging feature," Ishizaki stated.
This move might come as a surprise to fans, given that FromSoftware's titles have traditionally leaned heavily on message-based interactions to enhance player engagement and enjoyment. However, the development team concluded that this feature was not suitable for the dynamics of *Elden Ring: Nightreign*.
It's important to note that *Nightreign* is crafted as a standalone experience, separate from the main *Elden Ring* storyline. The aim is to pay homage to the original while presenting players with a fresh adventure filled with unique challenges and encounters. The game promises to maintain the atmospheric depth and complexity that fans have come to expect from the *Elden Ring* universe.
