A Decade in the Making
The development of Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been a long and complex process, marked by significant delays spanning nearly a decade. Initiated in 2015 after Dragon Age: Inquisition, the project (initially codenamed "Joplin") faced numerous hurdles. BioWare's focus shifted to Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem, leading to resource reallocation and a temporary halt in development due to a design clash with the company's live-service strategy.
Revived in 2018 under the codename "Morrison," the game was officially announced as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in 2022 before settling on its current title.
Despite the challenges, the journey is nearing its end. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S this fall. Get ready, Thedas awaits!
