Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss Announced by Creators of The Council
Big Bad Wolf, the studio behind critically acclaimed games like Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong and The Council, has unveiled its next project: Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss. The announcement was accompanied by a stunning CG trailer, introducing players to Noah, the protagonist battling encroaching madness, the submerged city of R'lyeh, and the terrifying Great Old One, Cthulhu himself.
The game, set in 2053, plunges players into a world where corporate deep-sea mining awakens an ancient cosmic horror. Players assume the role of Noah, an agent with Interpol's secretive Occult Affairs division, investigating the mysterious disappearance of miners in the Pacific Ocean. Aided by an AI companion named Key, players will unravel the secrets of the sunken city of R'lyeh, solve challenging puzzles, and fight to preserve their sanity amidst Cthulhu's insidious influence.
Built using Unreal Engine 5, Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss promises surreal and mind-bending environments, creating a truly immersive and haunting atmosphere. The recently released trailer offers a captivating glimpse into the tense and thrilling experience awaiting players. Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is slated for release in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
