Befriend the Dwarves in Stardew Valley
This guide explores the enigmatic Dwarf in Stardew Valley, focusing on befriending this unique character. Unlike other villagers, befriending the Dwarf requires learning Dwarvish.
Meeting the Dwarf
Locate a large boulder to the right of the mine entrance on the first floor. Destroy it using a copper pickaxe or a bomb to reveal the Dwarf's shop.
Learning Dwarvish
The Dwarf doesn't speak common tongue. To communicate, collect all four Dwarf Scrolls (artifacts) and donate them to the museum. Gunther will reward you with a Dwarvish translation guide. Return to the Dwarf; you can now understand and interact with him, including purchasing items.
Gift Guide
Gift-giving is crucial for building friendship. The Dwarf accepts two gifts weekly. Gifts given on his birthday (Summer 22nd) grant eight times the usual friendship points.
Loved Gifts (+80 Friendship Points):
- Gemstones: Amethyst, Aquamarine, Jade, Ruby, Topaz, Emerald
- Lemon Stone
- Omni Geode
- Lava Eel
- All universally loved gifts
Liked Gifts (+45 Friendship Points):
- All universally liked gifts
- All artifacts
- Cave Carrot
- Quartz
Disliked/Hated Gifts (Friendship Decrease):
Avoid giving mushrooms, foraged items, and universally hated gifts (except artifacts).
Movie Theater Interactions
Once unlocked, the Movie Theater offers another way to interact. The Dwarf loves all movie selections. For concessions, he loves Stardrop Sorbet and Rock Candy, and likes Cotton Candy, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jawbreaker, Salmon Burger, Sour Slimes, and Star Cookie. Other snacks are disliked.
This updated guide helps you navigate the intricacies of befriending Stardew Valley's mysterious Dwarf. Remember, patience and the right gifts are key!
