The Battle Of Polytopia Buffs The Aquarion Tribe, Making Them Thalassic Superstars!
Midjiwan has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia, completely revamping the Aquarion Tribe. This significant rework overhauls the original special tribe, first introduced in 2017.
Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation
The Aquarion have received a dramatic visual upgrade. Their land units now boast mermaid tails, making them either fully aquatic or amphibious. This allows them to traverse water effortlessly, although they're slower on land. A new flooded terrain type has also been introduced, allowing land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.
The Aquarion's infrastructure has also received an aquatic makeover. Buildings can now be constructed on water, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, providing the ideal strategic base for seafaring warriors.
A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. The update also reintroduces Aqua Crops, now a permanent feature for the Aquarion, functioning similarly to land-based crops.
New aquatic creatures join the fray, adding exciting new strategic elements. Sharks provide surprise attacks, puffers offer long-range bombardment, and jellies unleash electric shocks.
Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also see improvements. Crabs now flood the tiles they cross, synergizing perfectly with the mermaid-tailed troops. Intrigued? Check out the trailer below!
