Baldur's Gate 3 Mobile Port Available Now
A fraudulent Baldur's Gate 3 mobile port has surfaced on the iOS App Store, prompting a warning to players. This fake app, deceptively presented with modified screenshots and a simulated mobile interface, is free initially but demands a hefty $29.99 monthly subscription fee. Crucially, there is no official mobile version of Baldur's Gate 3.
The app, titled "Baldurs Gate 3 - Mobile Turuk" and developed by "Dmytro Turuk," lacks any mention of Larian Studios, the game's developer, or its Dungeons & Dragons origins—red flags indicating its illegitimate nature.
Data Theft Concerns:
While visually obvious to many, the app's free initial download may lure unsuspecting users. Its terms of service reveal that it collects user IP addresses and potentially other sensitive data. This isn't an isolated incident; similar Baldur's Gate 3 scams have appeared before.
Currently, this specific fraudulent app hasn't been reported on the Android store, but vigilance is advised on both platforms. Remember, if an offer seems too good to be true, it likely is.
Larian Studios hasn't announced a mobile port for Baldur's Gate 3. However, earlier Baldur's Gate titles are available on mobile, and the game itself is accessible via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Anyone who downloaded the fake app should delete it immediately.
