Atomfall Unveils Gameplay, Ready for Launch
Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Reveals Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments, renowned for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in a 1960s alternate England devastated by nuclear war. This departure from their usual third-person action and RTS titles promises a fresh experience for players.
Initially unveiled during Xbox's Summer Game Fest showcase, Atomfall generated considerable buzz, particularly due to its day-one inclusion in Xbox Game Pass. While overshadowed by other major announcements, its intriguing trailer piqued the interest of many.
A recently released seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a more detailed look at the game. The setting is a post-nuclear wasteland, reminiscent of Fallout and STALKER, where players explore quarantine zones, villages, and research bunkers. Survival hinges on resource scavenging amidst encounters with robots, cultists, and perilous environments.
The trailer highlights a range of weaponry, from melee (a cricket bat) to firearms (revolver, shotgun, bolt-action rifle), all subject to upgrades. Crafting plays a crucial role, allowing players to create healing items and combat tools like Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials. Furthermore, the game features unlockable skills categorized into melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning, enhancing player capabilities.
Launching March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC (and available on Xbox Game Pass from day one), Atomfall promises a compelling survival experience. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, so stay tuned to their social media channels for updates.
