"Universe for Sale: Bizarre Bazaar on Jupiter Unveiled in New Visual Novel"
Akupara Games and Tmesis Studio have launched their latest adventure game, Universe for Sale. Akupara Games, known for intriguing titles like The Darkside Detective series and Zoeti, continues to surprise with unique offerings.
Is the Universe Really for Sale?
Set on a space station orbiting Jupiter, Universe for Sale unfolds in a bizarre bazaar enveloped in acid rain and mystery. Here, witty orangutans work the docks, and cultists trade flesh for enlightenment. The universe up for sale is due to Lila, a woman with the extraordinary ability to create universes from the palm of her hand.
The game begins with you landing in the shantytown of a mining colony, playing as the Master, a skeletal figure and a member of the Cult of Detachment. This setting is both creepy and fascinating. As you navigate the ramshackle colony filled with rickety tea and oddity shops, you eventually find yourself at Honin's Tea House, which is Lila's shop. Lila's enigmatic nature unfolds as you switch between her perspective and the Master's throughout the game.
Playing as Lila, you engage in a mini-game where you mix and match ingredients to create mesmerizing visual worlds. As the Master, your journey delves into the philosophies of the Cult of Detachment and encounters with the Church of Many Gods. The narrative builds as you progress, offering theories about the underlying mysteries. Every character, whether human, skeletal, or robotic, has a story to tell, and the world is rich with details waiting to be explored.
