As an Archer, your most effective strategy is to maintain distance from your enemies and let your arrows do the talking. While Archers can deal significant damage, they are not built to withstand it.

Archers wear Medium armor, which strikes a balance between Light and Heavy armor. Unlike Light armor-wearing Magicians or Priests, Archers lack protective spells or heavy armor. Instead, they rely on other players and their Pets to absorb damage.

Tamed Pets are essential for Archers. Initially, your pet options may be limited, but as you progress, Archers gain access to a variety of pets unavailable to other classes, making them one of the most formidable classes in the game.

How to Get Beast Tamer in Rune Slayer

At Level 30, Archers, like all other classes in Rune Slayer, can choose a subclass. You have the option to specialize as a Sharpshooter or a Beast Tamer. Choose Beast Tamer immediately upon reaching level 30.

There's currently no compelling reason to opt for the Sharpshooter subclass. While firing multiple arrows sounds appealing, it pales in comparison to the Beast Tamer's Alpha Predator passive ability, which enables you to tame unique beasts like Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and especially Mud Crabs. This subclass makes Beast Tamers incredibly resilient and powerful, capable of soloing many group activities.

Craft the entire Elder set using parts from the Elder Treant raid boss. Don’t be intimidated by its size. Join a group or a Discord guild to tackle the giant tree. As an Archer, you should have no trouble dealing damage and surviving, especially with a robust Beast Tamer pet.

Best Late Endgame Armor and Weapon for Archers

Once you reach max level and aim to optimize your Archer, join the Demon Sect. Start by killing players of the opposite faction to increase your standing and acquire the Stalker armor set. Be prepared to save a substantial amount of in-game currency. The rest of your gear is relatively straightforward to obtain.

While working on your standing, also take on the Amphitheres in Greatwood Forest, as they have a slim chance of dropping Vermilion, the best bow currently available in Rune Slayer.
