It may feel like we’ve gone back to the Stone Age during the Primitive weekly challenge in Phasmophobia, but I don’t think cavemen needed to worry about ghosts haunting them. We’ll need to get in and out without our electronics, but can we make that happen?

The Primitive Challenge is one of the most challenging weekly tasks you'll encounter in Phasmophobia. It demands you to identify the ghost and complete your investigations without relying on any electronics. This means you'll need to depend heavily on your intuition and understanding of ghost behavior.

To tackle this challenge, head to 10 Ridgeview Court, a house-style map known for its navigable layout and safe zones. Remember, like all weekly challenges, you need to successfully complete three investigations to earn full credit.

Tips & Tricks To Complete Primitive Challenge in Phasmophobia

Navigating the Primitive Challenge comes with its unique set of rules. You'll notice a significant reduction in your available equipment. Electronics, such as Flashlights, DOTs Projectors, and Video Cameras, are entirely off-limits.

Sanity Medication is also removed, but you begin with a full Sanity meter to shield you temporarily from ghostly mischief. Your loadout includes two Tier 1 Crucifixes to prevent up to two ghost hunts, along with Tier 2 Firelights and a full set of Tier 1 Incense for additional protection.

For evidence gathering, your toolkit is slim: two Tier 3 Ghost Writing books and two Tier 1 UV "glowstick" lights, which double as your flashlights. You also get two Tier 1 thermometers to detect freezing temperatures.

To succeed, leverage your paranormal knowledge. Each ghost type has distinct behaviors that can help you identify them, even without traditional evidence. Our no-evidence cheat sheet can be a handy resource here.

Your primary goal should be to locate the ghost quickly. Without access to the house's fuse box, your sanity is at greater risk in the dark. Fortunately, the ghost's activity is heightened during this challenge, making it easier to track.

Consider using the provided Ouija Board, found in the laundry room on the first floor, left of the dining area. Ask the ghost about its "favorite room" to pinpoint its location, but be aware that this will cost you 50% of your sanity. Always remember to say "Goodbye" to the board to avoid triggering a Cursed Hunt. This method is especially useful in group settings for added safety.
