Marvel Rivals mods with Trump and Biden removed, Nexus Mods owner threatened

Marvel Rivals' Nexus Mods controversy escalates after over 500 mods were submitted in a single month. The removal of mods replacing Captain America's head with images of Joe Biden and Donald Trump ignited a firestorm of user reaction.

Nexus Mods owner, TheDarkOne, clarified the removals in a private Reddit discussion, stating both mods were removed simultaneously to prevent accusations of partisan bias. TheDarkOne noted, "We removed the Biden mod the same day as the Trump mod to avoid bias. Yet, YouTube commentators remain strangely silent on this."

The situation took a darker turn when TheDarkOne reported receiving threats following the removals. "We're facing death threats, being called pedophiles, and subjected to various insults, all because someone chose to inflame this issue," TheDarkOne added.

This isn't the first time Nexus Mods' mod removal policies have sparked debate. A 2022 incident saw the removal of a Spider-Man Remastered mod that replaced rainbow flags with American flags. At the time, Nexus Mods openly supported inclusivity and its stance against discriminatory content.

TheDarkOne concluded, "We won't engage with those who find this objectionable."
