Solve the Fountain of Confession Puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: A Step-by-Step Guide

This guide details how to conquer the intricate Fountain of Confession puzzle in the Vatican section of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, unlocking the mystery of the giants. Remember to photograph all signs, statues, and murals for Adventure Points!

After escaping the Vatican's underground and acquiring the scroll from the Giant's tomb, your next destination is the Fountain of Confession. Exit Antonio's office (as in the Sacred Wounds mission) and use your journal's map to navigate to the courtyard stairs leading to the fountain.

First, locate the chest near the fountain's right side (by the construction area). It holds the fountain key, granting access to the adjacent storage room.

Inside the storage room, use your whip to rappel to the rooftop. Then, swing across to the window, leading you back outside, atop the fountain. You'll see two dragon statues. Ignore the one you're on. Swing to the second and grab its protruding claw to activate a lever.

Manipulate the lever (using the left stick) to rotate the statue, aligning it with the opposite dragon. Repeat for the other dragon, noticing its claw is missing.

The missing claw lies on the scaffolding below. Rappelling down retrieves it, triggering a cutscene with Gina Lombardi. After the cutscene, reclaim the claw.

Return to the statue, insert the claw, and use the lever to make the dragons face each other. This rotates the ground-level Fountain of Confession statue towards the wall. Rappel back down.

Now, use your whip to pull the fountain statue. This reveals a gate blocked by three statues: an angel (left), a man (right), and a smaller statue (center). A lever appears on the fountain; Indy and Gina will activate it together, revealing the first wall puzzle (a baptism scene). Examine the inscriptions for hints and Adventure Points.

For the first puzzle, position the male statue under the water bucket, activate the water mechanism with your whip, and then push the statue towards the smaller one, "baptizing" it. This moves the left gate statue.

Reactivate the lever for the second puzzle (a path with stone layers). Use the handles (top left and right) to adjust the path and move the angel figure to the right side of the wall. This moves the remaining gate statue.

Finally, push the center statue through the gate to activate a spiral stairway, leading to the next part of the game.
