Hyper Light Breaker offers a diverse roster of characters, each with unique playstyles. This guide details how to unlock new Breakers and explores their abilities. Note that this guide reflects the early access version; more characters may be added later.

Unlocking New Characters

To unlock new characters, you'll need Abyss Stones, obtained by defeating Crowns (bosses). First, locate Prisms (golden diamond icons on the map) to access boss arenas. After defeating a Crown, return to the Cursed Outpost teleporter and select the Breaker you wish to unlock using your accumulated Abyss Stones. Currently, only two characters are unlockable via this method; the process for future characters may differ.

All Characters and SyComs

Each Breaker starts with a SyCom, defining their base stats and core perk, significantly impacting their playstyle.

Vermillion

Vermillion's default SyCom is Gunslinger, favoring ranged combat with a critical hit chain mechanic. His unlockable Tank SyCom boosts armor on perfect parries, enhancing melee capabilities and survivability.

Lapis

Lapis begins with Lightweaver, a ranged SyCom that increases Rail shot damage after collecting Batteries. Her unlockable Warrior SyCom increases core stats with each upgrade, making her potentially the strongest Breaker at high upgrade levels.

Goro

Goro is a ranged character with Astrologer as his default SyCom, accelerating Blade skill charge while shooting. His unlockable Sniper SyCom significantly boosts critical hit rate, making him a high-risk, high-reward option. His high damage output is balanced by his fragility.
