Heroes of the Storm Bringing Back Popular Game Mode
Heroes of the Storm: Brawl Mode Returns!
Heroes of the Storm is bringing back its popular Heroes Brawl game mode, rebranded as Brawl Mode. This exciting update, currently available on the Public Test Realm (PTR), introduces unique challenges on dozens of previously unavailable maps. Expect a bi-weekly rotation of Brawls, each offering a special chest reward for completing three matches.
A Blast from the Past (and Some New Surprises):
Originally launched in 2016 as Arena Mode, Heroes Brawl offered weekly rotating gameplay variations. From all-Nova sniper duels to action-packed Arena versions of classic battlefields, the mode delivered unique map layouts, objectives, and rule sets. Its discontinuation in 2020, due to the rising popularity of single-lane maps and maintenance challenges, left many fans yearning for its return.
Brawl Mode: The New and Improved Experience:
Now, Brawl Mode is back! The new iteration features a bi-weekly rotation (1st and 15th of each month), offering a refreshing change of pace. Earning the special chest reward will require three Brawl matches, although the exact frequency of reward acquisition (per Brawl or per week) remains to be seen. With a vast library of past Brawls, players can anticipate a diverse selection, and potentially some exciting new additions.
Snow Brawl Kicks Off the Fun (on the PTR):
The current PTR features the holiday-themed Snow Brawl, providing a sneak peek of what's to come. The official launch is expected approximately one month after the PTR testing period concludes (estimated three weeks), potentially placing the Brawl Mode debut at the start of February.
A Fitting Anniversary Gift:
The return of Brawl Mode coincides with Heroes of the Storm's 10th anniversary on June 2nd, 2025, making it a celebratory addition for the game's milestone year. This resurgence is a significant win for dedicated fans, and many are hopeful it signals a broader revitalization of the game.
