How to Respec Your Character in Avowed (& When You Want To)

---------------------------------------------------------------

Choosing your character at the start of *Avowed* can be a bit of a gamble. It's tough to know what kind of gameplay you'll enjoy the most right off the bat. That's where respeccing comes in handy. If you find yourself not enjoying your current setup, it's time to consider a respec. Personally, I initially went for a full wizard build in *Avowed*, but after getting trounced in battle, I switched to a more versatile spellsword. As you progress, you might want to respec again to optimize your combat effectiveness and achieve your ideal build.

How to Respec Your Abilities in Avowed

To respec your abilities in *Avowed*, head to the game's menu and select the “Abilities” section. Scroll to the bottom where you'll find the “Reset Points” option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, which increases as you progress through the game. Confirm your choice, pay the listed amount, and all your ability points across the skill trees—except for the unchangeable “Godlike” abilities—will be refunded. These “Godlike” abilities are determined by your in-game choices, not points allocation.

How to Respec Your Attributes in Avowed

If you're happy with your abilities but not your attributes, or if you want to overhaul everything, navigate to the “Character” section in the menu. At the bottom, beneath the list of attributes, you'll find a button to respec. The initial cost here is also 100 Copper Skeyt, and it increases over time. Press the button, pay the fee, and you'll regain all your attribute points, ready to redistribute them as you see fit.

How to Respec Your Companion in Avowed

Want to tweak your companion's abilities in *Avowed*? Access the menu, go to the “Abilities” section, and switch to the “Companions” tab. Under your companion's name, you'll see an icon that, when selected, allows you to respec for a certain amount of Copper Skeyt. Confirm your choice, and you'll get back all the points you've invested in that character. Remember, you'll need to respec each companion individually.

And there you have it—that's how you respec in *Avowed* to craft the perfect character build for your adventure.
