GOG Resurrects Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 on PC

GOG resurrects the cult classic survival horror games, Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, with DRM-free PC re-releases. Both PlayStation titles are now available on GOG's platform as part of their Preservation Program, retaining their original content.

Released in 1999 and 2000 respectively, these titles represent a significant piece of gaming history. While Dino Crisis 3 (an original Xbox exclusive) arrived in 2003, a new entry or HD remake remains elusive despite fan demand. Capcom's 2022 release of Exoprimal and comments from creator Shinji Mikami seemingly sealed the fate of a Dino Crisis revival.

PlayGOG's contribution is particularly valuable, given the challenges of running these older games on modern systems. GOG highlights the enhanced experience, stating that Regina's famous line, "You're extinct!", no longer applies to the games themselves.

GOG's Dino Crisis Enhancements:

  • Full Windows 10 and 11 compatibility.
  • All six original language localizations (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese).
  • Original, Arrange, and Operation Wipe Out modes.

  • Enhanced alpha transparency.
  • Improved game registry settings.

  • Modern controller support (DualSense, DualShock 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Switch, Logitech F series, and more).

GOG's Dino Crisis 2 Enhancements:

  • Full Windows 10 and 11 compatibility.
  • English and Japanese localizations.
  • Easy difficulty, Dino Colosseum, and Dino Duel modes.
  • Improved DirectX renderer.
  • Enhanced rendering options (windowed mode, VSync, gamma correction, integer scaling, anti-aliasing, etc.).
  • Improved music playback and volume scaling.
  • Improved item rendering and fogging.

Furthermore, GOG launched its Dreamlist, a community voting tool to influence future game additions to the platform. This initiative allows players to directly impact which titles GOG pursues.
