You begin the game with a default class known as The Nothing Role. To switch to a new class, head over to the class store marked in purple and try your luck with the spinning mechanism. There are two types of spins: Regular and Lucky. A Regular Spin costs 3 Dabloons per attempt, while the Lucky Spin can be purchased separately and offers significantly better odds.

Regular Spin

  • Common: 62.5%
  • Rare: 30.25%
  • Epic: 7%
  • Legendary: 0.25%

Lucky Spin

  • Rare: 30.25%
  • Epic: 64.75%
  • Legendary: 5%

Be warned, the spinning odds in Dead Sails can be frustratingly low, often feeling even harder than stated. We recommend new players save up at least 250 Dabloons before attempting to spin for Epic and Legendary classes, preparing for a significant daily grind.

Common Classes Tier List

**Class Name****Class Buffs****Why This Tier?**
**Pirate**Boat speed increased by 20 mph.The Pirate earns a **B-Tier** ranking and stands as the 2nd best starting class thanks to its consistently useful speed boost throughout the game.
**Miner**Spawns with dynamite. The Miner is relegated to **D-Tier** as dynamite is highly situational and often ineffective.

Rare Classes Tier List

**Class Name****Class Buffs****Why This Tier?**
**Gunslinger**Spawns with a random gun and ammo. The Gunslinger lands in **C-Tier**. It's an improvement over The Nothing Role, but not worth the Dabloons.
**Medic**Spawns with additional heals. The Medic also falls into **C-Tier**. While the additional heals are useful, they are not game-changing.

Epic Class Tier List

**Class Name****Class Buffs****Why This Tier?**
**Priest**Spawns with 3 crosses and 1 holy water. The Priest is an **A-Tier** class, likely the best in the game considering its cost-effectiveness. With multiple Priests in a party, they can be devastating in both combat and cash generation.

Legendary Classes Tier List

**Class Name****Class Buffs****Why This Tier?**
**Screw Loose**Has more stamina and better speed.Surprisingly, the Screw Loose is a **B-Tier** class. Stamina and speed are less crucial than they initially appear.
**Rich**Starts with more cash and valuable items. The Rich class is **S-Tier**. Just like in real life, having more cash opens many doors.
**Pyromaniac**Turns anything into fuel, including junk. The Pyromaniac is **A-Tier**, potentially **B-Tier** depending on play style. It earns an A for the time it saves.
**Necromancer**Revives and recruits mobs you kill. The Necromancer is **S-Tier**, arguably the most powerful class in the game, full stop.
**Trader**Sells items for a higher price. The Trader is **A-Tier** due to the substantial income it can generate over time.
**Sheriff**Spawns with a powerful weapon. The Sheriff is **A-Tier**. Starting with a strong weapon is a significant advantage, though not essential for success.
