Call of Duty: Warzone Suffers Persistent Lobby Crashes

Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a permanent fix is still in development, developers have implemented a temporary solution.

Warzone's recent struggles continue a trend of issues in 2024, including server outages and persistent cheating problems. The latest glitch, reported on January 6th, caused games to freeze or crash during loading, leading to player frustration.

Responding to player outrage over unwarranted Skill Rating (SR) penalties and timeouts, Raven Software announced on January 9th a temporary suspension of these penalties for players disconnecting before joining Ranked matches. This addresses the unintended consequences of the bug while maintaining penalties for those leaving mid-match.

Although this mitigates the immediate impact, the underlying bug remains unfixed, even after a major January 2025 update. The persistence of bugs and disruptions to Ranked play continue to be a concern for the Warzone community. The development team is actively working on resolving these issues.
