The map includes catacombs and a Dark Aether Nexus, challenging players to survive against zombies, Amalgams, and the new Shock Mimic enemy, which features an electrifying attack that disrupts vision and radar.
To combat these threats, players can use the returning Staff of Ice from Black Ops II Origins and the War Machine grenade launcher as a new Support weapon. The returning perk, Death Perception, will aid in survival, and three new Gobblegums will provide unique abilities:
- Dead Drop (Epic): Increases drop rates of Salvage and Equipment for five minutes.
- Modified Chaos (Legendary): Greatly reduces all Ammo Mod cooldowns for two minutes.
