"Avowed: What Happens Post-Game?"

Author : Jonathan May 16,2025

While the world of the Living Lands in *Avowed* feels expansive, the main quest in Obsidian’s latest RPG is actually somewhat short. If you're eager for more content after the credits roll, here's what you can expect post-game.

Does Avowed Have New Game Plus?

For those who relish replaying games on a higher difficulty with accumulated skills and gear, *Avowed* might initially disappoint. At launch, *Avowed* does not feature a New Game Plus mode. However, given the community's demand for such a feature, there's a good chance Obsidian could introduce it in a future update or DLC.

Even without a New Game Plus, replaying Avowed can still be rewarding. The game's rich narrative is shaped by player choices, offering different endings and character builds. Starting a new save to explore these variations can provide a fresh and engaging experience.

Does Avowed Have Endgame Content?

Avowed features four main regions, a secret unnamed finale area, and a return to a major city (which we won't spoil here). These areas are designed to test your progression with Legendary Quality Weapons and Gear crucial for survival. While the final areas are challenging, this challenge does not extend to previous regions, and no new areas unlock post-game. Unfortunately, you won't see the Living Lands evolve based on your choices after the credits roll, which can be a letdown.

What You Can Do After You Beat Avowed

Without a New Game Plus or extensive endgame content, *Avowed’s* post-game offerings are somewhat limited. After the final encounter, you'll watch animatic cutscenes that illustrate the consequences of your decisions, providing insight into how your choices have impacted the Living Lands and its characters. Once these scenes conclude, you're returned to the Main Menu.

From the Main Menu, you have the option to start anew with a different Envoy or reload a previous save. Autosaves from just before the point of no return and before the final encounter allow you to replay these sections, making different choices to explore alternative story outcomes and endings.

Reloading to before the point of no return also lets you revisit earlier regions. You can clear the map, earn achievements, complete side quests, and collect missed items. With Legendary Quality weapons and gear, revisiting early areas like Dawnshore can be particularly enjoyable due to the disparity in power.

And that’s what you can do after beating Avowed.

*Avowed is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.*
