"2025's First Deadlock Update Surprisingly Small"
Valve has returned from their New Year holidays, and game developers are once again rolling out fresh updates across various titles. Following the news that Deadlock would be stepping away from its bi-weekly update schedule, the community anticipated a substantial patch. However, Valve opted for a lighter touch to kick off the year.
The recent patch focused solely on one hero: Yamato, who received a slight nerf. This included a reduction in damage scaling and a diminished attack speed bonus at the first level of Shadow Transformation. Additionally, abilities like Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were weakened, while Alchemical Fire underwent a minor rework.

With this smaller update, it seems likely we'll need to wait a bit longer for a more comprehensive patch. However, predicting the timing of such an update is currently challenging.
It's important to highlight that Deadlock has recently experienced a decline in its player base. This might be attributed to the current popularity of Marvel Rivals. Nevertheless, for a game still deeply entrenched in its beta phase, maintaining a steady player count between 7,000 and 19,000 is quite respectable. Keep in mind, Valve has not yet disclosed any potential release dates or details regarding the game's monetization model.
