Looking back on the past year? Many apps now offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is joining the party with its new 2024 Snap Recap feature.

What is a Snap Recap?

Unlike Spotify Wrapped or Twitch's recap, which focus on detailed statistics, the 2024 Snap Recap offers a more casual, visual journey through your year. It selects a single Snap from each month, creating a fun (and maybe slightly embarrassing!) slideshow of your 2024 moments. This isn't a data-driven breakdown; it's a curated collection of memories.

The 2024 Snap Recap seamlessly transitions into Snapchat's Memories feature, allowing you to explore flashbacks from the same dates in previous years, extending your nostalgic trip down memory lane.

How to View Your 2024 Snapchat Snap Recap

Accessing your 2024 Snap Recap is simple. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to access Memories (don't press the shutter button!). Your 2024 Snap Recap should appear prominently as a highlighted video.

Tap the recap (avoiding the blue share icon) to begin your review. The selected photos and videos play automatically, but you can tap the screen to advance more quickly. You can save, edit, share, or even add your recap to your Story. Like other Snaps, it remains private unless you choose to share it.

Why Don't I Have a Snapchat Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap is missing, don't worry – Snapchat is rolling them out gradually. The feature's availability depends on several factors, including the number of Snaps saved. Inconsistent Snapchat usage or infrequent photo/video sharing may also prevent a recap from being generated. Unfortunately, if it doesn't appear after some time, you can't request one.
