Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana serves as a fantastic entry point for newcomers, despite chronologically replacing Ys 3. While Dularn presents a formidable challenge, Ellefale, The Azure Queen of Death, stands in a league of her own. It's crucial for players to maintain a safe distance from this boss, as close proximity increases the likelihood of her devastating attacks landing.

Ellefale can withstand significant damage even on normal difficulty, becoming a daunting task at higher levels. However, the Ignis Bracelet offers a key strategy to overcome this challenge.

How to Beat Ellefale, The Azure Queen of Death

In Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, grinding is essential. Players should aim to boost their health above 100 and consider using Raval Ore to enhance their armor, though it's advisable to reserve this ore for superior armor upgrades later in the game.

Rushing into battle at the start is a risky move. Not only does it expose players to more damage, but Ellefale remains just out of reach of basic attacks. Utilizing the Ignis Bracelet to shoot fireballs is a safer way to deal damage. Staying at the far end of the arena minimizes the risk of getting hit, as Ellefale's attacks, while limited in variety, are potent and can quickly deplete health.

Ellefale, The Azure Queen of Death Attacks

Ellefale's attacks, though manageable individually, can restrict safe areas within the arena, making positioning crucial. Her arsenal consists of four distinct attacks:

  • A spinning disc attack
  • A vertical slashing attack
  • Multiple strikes of lightning
  • A slow-moving spinning sphere

Spinning Disc

Ellefale's spinning disc attack is launched from her position towards the player. Dodging this requires perfect timing; jumping too early or too late will result in damage. The attack is telegraphed by Ellefale raising her right arm, adding intensity to the battle.

Vertical Slash

The vertical slash is easier to evade; simply moving left or right suffices. However, players may need to combine this movement with jumping to avoid concurrent spinning discs. This attack is also signaled by Ellefale raising her right arm.

Lightning Strike

The lightning strike is Ellefale's most challenging move. When she leans forward, players must charge towards her. As she raises both arms, retreating and jumping back to the opposite end of the arena is necessary to avoid the lightning beams. Staying in motion and jumping away from Ellefale ensures safety.

Spinning Sphere

Ellefale's spinning sphere slowly advances, potentially blocking off parts of the arena. While easy to outrun on its own, it can become problematic when combined with other projectiles, effectively trapping the player. This move is telegraphed by Ellefale raising both her wings.
