Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4 Adds Skip Dialogue, Story Recap

The upcoming Honkai Star Rail update introduces several changes designed to transform how players experience the story and characters. Version 3.4 brings two new tools: Dialogue Skip and Story Summary. Read on to learn all the details.
According to the latest Developer Radio update, these features are aimed at players who prefer quicker access to gameplay or who have found the game's pacing problematic.
The skip function divides conversations into manageable paragraphs, letting you jump past sections instead of watching entire scenes. It also provides a summary of skipped content, highlighting key events and characters so you can stay informed even while speeding through the story.
Note, however, that this feature does not work during cutscenes or open-world exploration dialogue. Initially, the Story Summary will cover Amphoreus, Jarilo-VI, and Herta Space Station, with other regions being added in Version 3.6.
As many players know, it's not unusual to spend over 30 hours reading all the dialogue in areas like Amphoreus. Often, it feels like the same story could have been told in a fraction of the time with more efficient storytelling.
That said, simply adding a skip function doesn't necessarily fix underlying narrative issues. Let's be honest—recent developments in the game have been a topic of discussion, and this feature doesn't address those core concerns.
What Else Is Coming?
Later, in Version 3.6, a Story Recap feature will also be introduced. This will allow you to replay completed Trailblaze Missions, Trailblaze Continuances, and Companion Missions, including optional dialogue choices.
You can even rewatch cinematics, though the feature does not support rewinding combat or exploration segments, keeping the focus purely on narrative. One major benefit is the chance to revisit unvoiced dialogue that resulted from certain production decisions.
