"Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed to October 2025"
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has encountered yet another delay, now set to release in October 2025. This latest postponement, though smaller compared to previous ones, was announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. The new release date is a few months later than the previously planned launch in the first half of 2025, but it comes with the assurance that the game is complete.
“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” stated Marco Behrmann, Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”
Despite the disappointment of another delay, the update video brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. Additionally, they have promised that the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline at launch. However, fans should note that updates will be less frequent moving forward, as announced on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.
The journey of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been fraught with challenges since its announcement in 2019. Initially developed by Hardsuit Labs with a planned release in Q1 2020, the game faced its first delay to late 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the release to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit. A significant change came in 2023 when Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room, with a new target release window set for 2024. Now, after another delay, fans are eagerly awaiting the October 2025 release.
While it's uncertain if the sequel to the 2004 cult-classic video game will finally captivate players this fall, The Chinese Room remains optimistic. In the meantime, Paradox Interactive has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful launch, "someone else" will take on the development of Bloodlines 3.
