Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

To access the true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks replayability of past stages. Look for a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban" – this signifies an alternate path.

Normally, this stage involves escorting Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei defends the bridge. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao directly. This is challenging, as you'll be largely alone against a massive army.

To improve your chances:

• Reduce Difficulty: Set the difficulty to "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this a significantly easier task on a lower difficulty.
• Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. This places you closer to Cao Cao's forces at the start, saving valuable time.

During the battle, conserve your Musou Rage for key moments. Cao Cao will deploy two Grand Tactics: one requiring the defeat of two officers, the other demanding the elimination of 250 soldiers. A weapon like twin pikes is highly recommended for the latter task. Once Cao Cao's army is significantly weakened, defeating him should be more manageable. After this pivotal victory, only a few additional missions remain before the true Shu ending is revealed.
