Author : Isaac Apr 11,2025

After two failed launches and months of anticipation, *Rune Slayer* has finally hit the scene, and it's nothing short of glorious. Whether you're a seasoned MMORPG player or a newcomer, there's a lot to unpack. Fear not, as we've crafted a comprehensive guide to ease your entry into the world of *Rune Slayer*.

Rune Slayer Beginner Tips

Here are some key insights we wish we had when starting out, which can significantly smooth your journey in *Rune Slayer*.

Do not randomly attack other players

When we first heard about *Rune Slayer*'s full-loot PvP, we braced for chaos. However, our fears were mostly unfounded. **In *Rune Slayer*, dying—even to other players—doesn't mean you lose your items.** You simply respawn and continue your adventure.

But, there's a catch. **If you attack other players, you'll accrue a bounty.** The more players you kill, the larger your bounty grows, and the higher your bounty, the **more items you'll drop upon death.** Essentially, you can turn *Rune Slayer* into a full-loot PvP scenario by attacking others, but beware, as you may become a lucrative target yourself.

Our advice? **Avoid attacking other players** unless you have a compelling reason or a group of friends to support your endeavors.

Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly realize that both your **bank space and inventory are quite limited.** With only 50 slots, your inventory fills up fast. The solution? **Craft bags.** You can equip up to two bags, and the first one you should craft is the **Cotton Bag**.

To craft a Cotton Bag, **gather Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south** (watch out for mobs in the south). Each Cotton Bag adds 10 extra slots to your inventory, so make crafting these a priority.

Your pets don’t actually die

There's a common misunderstanding that when your tamed pets' health hits zero, they're gone for good. Not true. **When your pet "dies," it's simply unavailable for 5 minutes.** You can check the cooldown by holding T. Once the time's up, hold T again to summon your pet back into action.

Bonus Tip: To **quickly heal your pet**, store and unstore it at the stable master. You have one free slot, so make use of it.

Grab all the Quests (Yes, all of them)

*Rune Slayer* is packed with quests, many of which are not repeatable and can blend into the background. Most quests follow the familiar "Kill 10 X" format seen in many MMORPGs, and it's easy to overlook them.

Our solution? **Accept every quest you encounter.** From the Job board to random NPCs, grab them all. It's far more efficient to tackle multiple quests simultaneously, and you might even find yourself completing several at once. We once returned to Wayshire only to discover we had three quests ready to turn in without realizing it.

Craft everything at least once (even things you don’t need)

While you should prioritize crafting what you need, don't hesitate to use **spare materials** to craft items you might not immediately require. **Crafting items for the first time often unlocks new, more powerful crafting options.** For instance, smelting our first Iron Ore unlocked a range of new Iron Armor crafts. So, be generous with your materials and experiment with crafting.

Join a Guild

*Rune Slayer* is designed to be solo-friendly, but as you delve deeper, you'll encounter **tougher enemies** meant for group combat. The simplest way to find a group is by **joining a guild**.

Whether you shout in the general chat for a guild or use the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server, finding a guild can make tackling those big baddies much easier.

And that's all there is to it. Enjoy your adventures in *Rune Slayer*, and if you're yet to start, don't forget to check out the *Rune Slayer* Trello and Discord for more tips and community support.
